I CANNOT DO EVERYTHING, I CAN DO SOMETHING.
“Find out what you like doing best and get someone to pay you for doing it” -Katherine Whiteborn
- I always wanted to do everything. I’ve always had this strong passion in learning new things; things that concerns me and things that do not really concern me. I could pick up a book about karate and promptly I become hopelessly enamoured with its prevarications. The account of how the Ryukyu Kingdom was annexed by Japan, how Gichin Funakoshi was invited to give the first karate demonstration and part you’ve been so eager to hear, how to ace the open-hand techniques such as knife-hands to completely vanquish the adversary! Then my transient goal is becoming a karateka. Yes, that’s not a normal career path, and it’s not also what I anticipated, yet life barely turns out the way you expect. After a week or two, I could pick up another book and channel all my chi in turning an ace in that field.
I was quite complacent with the type of life I lived, how sweet and brilliant to know practically about everything. I never knew that my quest for information has led me barking up the wrong tree.
My life became noticeably stale in the sense that I wasn’t really skilled in anything. I just simply had thoughts about the whole nine yards.
Over the years, I was able to discover the secrets to cut the mustard!
- Through personal development, I learnt how to always be in control and how to have the best of both worlds in your career. I hope that one of the points is useful to you.
